Artroom.Live
Moving into my own place has allowed me to do all sorts of activities: host movie nights, dinner parties, and now private concerts. I had the chance to work with ArtRoom.Live last Sunday, and I didn’t just jump at the chance, I leaped. ArtRoom.Live allows for private intimate concerts, hosted at your own home, or venue of choice - focused more on the style of music/instrument. As a flutist (not a very good one) I saw Sheila Del Bosque was available and I knew I had to have her. She filled my home with Cuban styled jazz and it had everyone swaying. Seriously, if you have the opportunity to book a talented musician to perform for your friends, do it. It was honestly one of the best experiences.
I try to host a monthly dinner party for my close friends, pot luck style, where we all sit together and catch up. This past Sunday though, I surprised everyone with Sheila. I had the secret kept for about a month - I had an easier time with the brisket that I made. All I told people were to dress up in cocktail attire, and I went “tits-up” and made a brisket. If you can’t tell, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel inspired a lot of the evening.
