Spots and Stripes

When it gets cold, I begin my hibernation process: I curl up under the blankets and I put minimal effort into thinking about outfits. I mainly stick to black and white, I know that's bad, especially the color assortment I have going in my closet. But black and white is a classic. I love finding new ways to layer my favorite pieces, like this really old sexy see through shirt (similar here) I have, and layering it under a chunky knit sweater - just so it shows that pop of color or pattern.

Also, if I'm doing a black and white look, I make sure I'm paying attention to details: pops of red and texture. My leggings are to die for, they're faux suede from J.McLaughlin, and I never want to take them off. When I first got these it was the end of October and just like a kid excited about going back-to-school shopping, I wore these immediately and regretted it. I was dying of the heat. I remember being so excited to wear my new wardrobe the first day of school.... and realizing my brand new winter coat, sweater, and snow boots on September 1st was a poor choice. Same story with these leggings: perfect for Winter, not so perfect on a 60º fall day.

Back in Brookline Village (where Power Rowing is located from my last post here), the boyfriend and I checked out Martin's Coffee Shop, which is a way more than a coffee shop. The portions were unbelievable. I'm dating a giant, and he couldn't finish his meal. I couldn't finish my meal, and I believe in second breakfast!
