Skinny Presecco
I don't always drink alcohol that's good for you, but when I do, it's Skinny. LOL sorry I had to... too easy? Skinny Presecco is coming to Boston! Yes my bubbly lovers, Presecco that has 7g of sugar. I didn't get to chug the whole bottle, so I can't fully inform you if it was less of a hangover, but mind over matter right?
I recently got to check out this new bottle (ready to stock shelves at the Whole Foods in the Ink Block soon), and I have to say, it's not bad. When I first tasted it, I wasn't blown out of the water I have to admit, but after a while I really liked it. I'm a sweet gal, and this isn't a super sweet wine, so that was one of the first things I noticed. (So yes, you notice a difference in sugar). My roommate loved it though on first sip. It paired perfectly with seafood and pizza. I'm also excited that this UK wine is being tested first in Boston (suck it NYC). So get out there and try the new thing before everyone else!
Since we're on the topic of champagne and bubbles, Sonsie is the perfect place to grab a bottle of champagne for brunch. The entire front of the restaurant is a window, and on sunny days, opens to the street of Newbury, giving a Parisian vibe. I always call ahead and ask for the table right up front.... because I'm annoying like that.
Before I get your guys too thirsty, I think I'm back to my regular schedule! I'm all moved into Southie (thank. god.), finished painting, mostly decorated, and almost done unpacking. It was physically and mentally exhausting. I've been in this blithe state, but honestly I'm so worn out. There's excitement finding new places for old things, and re-decorating. But, with old things come old memories. I've been a bit overwhelmed unpacking things that I use to love: paintings that gave me joy, pictures displayed happy memories, now bring a bit of bitterness.
Not to play the world's smallest violin, but unpacking things have meant opening old wounds. From each box is something from my life with my ex, and I've been an emotional roller coaster ride. Thankfully, I've had great support, and I'm dating someone also unbelievably great and understanding (you may have spotted him on my Insta stories). He's a minimalist though, and loves the book, "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up," and believes, if it doesn't bring you joy, then toss it. (Goodbye half my stuff lol!) Seeing how I'm on a tight budget, I can't really do that, but also, I'm a sucker for nostalgia. I refuse to throw away memories (no matter how good or sad) so everything gets stored in memory boxes. I still have my high school diving records from 2005-2007.
But nonetheless, re-decorating has been fun. I've been trying to go modern, but I'm coming out "shabby chic." My roommate is letting me go crazy, and so far has been loving all the updates. She's also finding it amusing how I'm mentally driving myself crazy trying to do certain things.....like put a nightstand together. Don't worry I'll post pictures, especially of the evil nightstand. Speaking of champagne: I have champagne taste, on a beer bottle budget, and it's torture. Can't wait to share later! Until then.... xoxo Presecco Girl. (if you can't tell I'm running on 0 sleep and I find myself very amusing right now.)
