#TheJacket
If you're going to make one purchase this season, Purchase the Selkie Jacket, it's THE jacket! Why you ask? It's the perfect transitional jacket/oversized cardigan that's professional and sophisticated looking, but has the most comfortable feel to it.
Emily Slocum and I went to Simmons together, and she came up with this idea while interviewing for jobs. She would have her interview outfit on, but going from office to office, interviewing in the winter was tough, and then she decided to save us all with this design. If you haven't noticed from my recent k'vetching, Boston can get pretty cold, and wearing a bulky winter coat with a bulky sweater underneath is clearly not a sexy look going from job interview to job interview......or bar to bar. Fashion conscious decisions can be hard in New England, but Emily NAILED IT! I am so proud of this woman. Designed and MADE right here in the U.S., I'm obsessed.
I wore #thejacket shopping around. Is it just me, but I sweat like crazy when I shop (and hell yah I call it a sport). I hate carrying around my coat while shopping, then having to throw it over my bag, and then my shoulder kills later. I'm using more icy hot shopping, than when I go to the gym. This jacket was the perfect solution. It's lightweight and so warm. My thoughts: finally a snuggie I'm not embarrassed to wear out in public. Without the jacket, I feel I would look "basic," but the jacket gave this look the edge it was looking for. I got tons of compliments wearing this from complete strangers, so excellent job Emily! Also, two words: thumb holes (...drops mic...)
Thank you Emily Slocum for partnering with me for this post!
